Thanksgiving worthy Mashed Potatoes
Feeds up to six people
Ingredients :
8 russet potatoes
Tbsp salt
Tbsp pepper
Tbsp garlic powder
Tbsp onion powder
parsley for granish
2 tbsp butter
16 oz whipping cream
Directions:
Wash, peel and cut your potatoes into fours. Place potatoes into a large pot and fill with water.
Place your pot on your stove over medium high heat. Allow the potatoes to come to a boil. Once your potatoes have come to a boil have your pot over medium heat to allow a gentle boil. To check your potatoes if they are done stick a fork through the potatoes, if they break easily they are done and you can remove from the stove. If they are too stiff allow a couple more minuets to finish cooking.
Now strain your potatoes and season, adjust if you need more. Add your butter and gradually add in the whipping cream. Mix all of your ingredients with your hand held mixer while still gradually adding in the whipping cream. You might not need to use all of the whipping cream depending on how you like the consistency of your potatoes. Mixing the potatoes with a hand held mixer allows the potatoes to have a more fluffy and "airy" texture which makes it Thanksgiving worthy!
Don't forget to place a little bit of butter in the center of your potatoes and your parsley on top for your presentation! ENJOY!
